Matina's manheaven has sealed a deal with Subtletape Recordings, officially joining its roster Saturday, September 21. The new partnership was realized in time for the singer-songwriter's upcoming debut single set to introduce an EP that has been in the works since early this year.
Known by peers as Ronald Manlangit Jr., the Multimedia Arts student has performed throughout Davao City as RJ Manheaven before settling with the lowercased mononym manheaven upon joining the indie label, citing potential confusion with other RJs from his scene as among the reasons for the stage name change.
"I'm happy to have joined Subtletape. This is a big step for me, and I can't wait to share the music I've been working on," manheaven says of the team-up, adding, "I'm pouring my heart into this, and I believe the music will find its people once it's out."
The emerging artist has been actively showcasing his indie folk-pop style at local open mics and has performed alongside some of Davao's well-known acts. His recent signing is aimed at taking manheaven's music to new heights. "A huge thank you to everyone who's helped me get to where I am today—long way to go!"
